Intel Announces Ecosystem Vendor Alliance

In an attempt to utilize the benefits of technology-enhanced learning, the Ecosystem Vendor Alliance (EVA) has demonstrated a broad end-user education solution. The solution, which was unveiled at eINDIA 2008, is optimized for Intel-powered classmate PCs. Launched by Intel and its several members, the alliance connects ICT and education members from around the world by letting them share common opportunities, resources and experience.
It also provides tools, training and online match-making of ecosystem partners. Additionally, it allows vendors to list their products or services on www.classmatepc.com, where educators can search for applications, tools and content. The alliance currently includes operating system vendors (OSVs), independent software vendors (ISVs), independent content providers (ICPs), independent hardware vendors (IHVs) and educational service providers (ESPs). As per the company communique, Intel will be ramping up the benefits of the EVA program, the functionality of the www.classmatepc.com and the number of members worldwide in the coming months. With more configuration designs in the pipeline, Intel is determined to deliver more products that bring PC accessibility closer to end users the world over.
